Check whether CFLAGS are supported before adding · b8a5d88f
      Andreas Gnau authored
Add non-essential CFLAGS only if the compiler supports it.
Enable compiling on MSVC and Clang without error-msgs or warnings
due to non-existing parameters. Note that MSVC has not been tested
beyond the fact that it compiles.

This also makes compiling on non-x86/x86_64 architectures work in the
default configuration, by using the existance of the -msse parameter as
an indication whether SSE is supported. This may not be the best check,
but is still better than requiring manual configuration.

fix internal getnc to return dumb_ssize_t · 14a2e223
      Simon Naarmann authored
Return type should match what we declare in dumb.h.
Temporary variable should be long, because A4 returns a long here.
Setting/checking errno to return -1 when we can't read anything,
but returning number of bytes read if we read at least a few bytes.

Consider clarifying the getnc spec what we should return when the caller
wishes for 20 bytes, we can only read 10, then encounter an error. We
      should probably return 10 then.

      Make LFS-checks work with MinGW.org-MinGW · c6bc9714
      Andreas Gnau authored
MingW-W64 supports _FILE_OFFSET_BITS and does not have off64_t, while
the old/classic MinGW from MinGW.org does not have this support. Treat
DJGPP and MinGW.org-MinGW the same way (use off_64_t).

      Fixes #67.
